Disney’s Hollywood Studios is about to get a whole lot louder, zanier, and more colorful. In a move that has fans buzzing, Walt Disney World has announced that the legendary Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will be reimagined as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, opening in Summer 2026.
🚗 From Aerosmith to Animal: A New Era Begins
Since 1999, guests have raced through the streets of Los Angeles in a super-stretch limo to the tunes of Aerosmith. But starting next year, the ride will take a sharp turn into Muppet territory. The new storyline follows The Electric Mayhem—the Muppets’ iconic rock band—as they scramble to make it to their biggest Hollywood concert ever.
Inside the newly rebranded G-Force Records, now under Muppet management, chaos reigns. Scooter, the band’s ever-stressed manager, is trying to wrangle the group while a team of penguin audio engineers keeps the studio running. This marks the first time Scooter will appear as an Audio-Animatronics figure, with hints that other Muppets may join him in animatronic form.
🎶 A Ride Full of Mayhem and Music
Guests will still enjoy the same high-speed thrills, inversions, and launch sequence—but with a Muppet twist. Expect backstage antics, psychedelic visuals, and a soundtrack that blends classic Muppet tunes with rock ‘n’ roll energy. The ride’s exterior will also get a makeover, including a psychedelic guitar design and a golden piano key tribute to Dr. Teeth.
